WILDERNESS HUNTSThe Bob Marshall Wilderness Ranch is fortunate to begin wilderness rifle hunts on September 15 each year. We are able to hunt a full month earlier than all other areas in Montana. We hunt elk, mule deer, mountain goat, and black bear from our remotely located tent camp at Shaw Creek. Our camp, often referred to as "The Shaw Creek Sheraton," offers the utmost in comfort and great food, while hunters experience this game rich wilderness. Since we hunt the wilderness, we have very little hunter pressure, allowing you the opportunity to take a trophy animal.
Our wilderness hunts are eight days in length. We take no more than six hunters
in our camp, of those, generally two or more will be in other spike camps. We
have been outfitting hunters in this area for more than twenty years. "The Bob Marshall Wilderness Ranch is a wonderful jump-off point for some of the best fishing, hunting, trail riding, and mountain-gawking left in the U.S. And Virgil and Barbara and their crew will treat you like family." Bill Rooney, Managing Editor, AMERICAN HUNTER MAGAZINE "It was a memorable trip for all of us and I would recommend the Bob Marshall Wilderness Ranch to anyone interested in a Western adventure. I'll be back soon. Next time, however, I'll be looking for an elk." Vin T. Sparano, Executive Editor, OUTDOOR LIFE MAGAZINE "For the finest hunt of your life, try Virgil. I've been in high-country camps all over the Rockies, but the Bob Marshall Wilderness Ranch is one of the very finest. I highly recommend them. Jim Zumbo, Outdoor Writer, Editor, OUTDOOR LIFE MAGAZINE "There is virtually no outside hunting pressure in this area. Hunters may hunt on the way into camp, and out on the last day of the hunt. This eliminates two days being wasted on travel." Rod Hart, Editor, THE EASTMAN'S JOURNAL

located tent camp offers luxury while hunting in some of the most game rich environments
in the wilderness. Our comfortable well-equipped camp, often referred to as the "Shaw Creek Sheraton"
offers heated guest sleep tents, cots with mattress pads, first class dining and
cook tent, a primitive privy, corrals, saddle and hay tent, and our crew tent.

by a cheerful cook. We prepare roast turkey, ham, pastries, cakes, always a fresh
salad and fruit, along with home baked breads. The cost of these eight day
deluxe wilderness hunts is $4,500.00 each for two hunters per guide. Trophy

have the option of hunting from main camp with your personal guide. The "one on
one" hunts have been our most productive hunting adventure. The cost of these
eight day trophy wilderness hunts is $5,500.00 for one hunter per guide. Wilderness
Hunt Dates: LODGE HUNTS Our location offers some of the finest whitetail,
mule deer and bear hunting in the U.S. The number five Boone & Crockett whitetail
was taken near the lodge; the area is literally saturated with whitetail. We also
have an extremely large population of black bear around the lodge. Our lodge hunts
are very productive. If trophy mule deer are your interest, we hunt the upper
ridges which have often produced thirty inch mule deer. Trophy mule deer hunts
are for the more aggressive hunters. We hunt with vehicles or on horseback. Our
guides are always willing to provide that special effort to make your hunt successful.
If you are unable to tolerate the rigors of a wilderness hunt our "lodge"
hunt is superb. Even though we have a herd of elk around the lodge, they are not
plentiful enough to allow us, in all good conscience, to sell you an elk hunt.
If you are primarily interested in elk and mule deer, our wilderness hunt should
be your choice. But, if you are interested in truly trophy class whitetail or
mule deer, this is the hunt for you. "Montana Trophy Whitetails - Montana is noted for elk, bear, mulies and other game, but few outsiders know about another plentiful big-game animal. Whitetail are here too, and there are some whoppers... ..The Swan River Valley is one of the top producers of trophy-class whitetail bucks in the Nation." Ed Park, WHITETAIL MAGAZINE " Spring bear hunting from the lodge is fantastic. The area is literally saturated with bears this time of year. Rod Hart, Editor, THE EASTMANS' JOURNAL Our lodge hunts are six days in length. We furnish all but your personal gear. You will be impressed by the first class table set offered to our guests as well as the utmost in warm, personal accommodations. Hearty, tasty meals are served ranch style. The cost of these six day lodge hunts is (one hunter per guide) - $3,350, (2 hunters per guide) - $2,725 each.
